Deeds are easily entered using any of the following methods.
- Manually (step-by-step)
- All at once in the Script editor (New)
- By section, towhship & range breakdown (Improved)
- Using the Automatic Deed Reader
Method 1 - Manual Entry
The regular "Tract" command prompts you for each bearing, distance, and curve parameter. Lines and curves are drawn immediately as you work your way through the deed. Click for illustration
Method 2 - The Script Editor (batch mode)
Using the Script Editor, deed calls are entered all at once, like in a word processor. If you are not sure about a call, then enter a question mark (?) and the program will attempt to solve if for you. The "script" that you create can be recalled at any time in case you need to make changes or correct an error.
Method 3 - By Section, Township & Range Breakdown
Entering a rectangular deed is now easier than ever. There are no special codes to remember, just type in the description like it appears in the deed. For example: "The North 300 feet of the Southeast quarter of Section 12, Township 37 South, Range 18 East". More information
Method 4 - Using the Automatic Deed-Reader
Copy and paste the deed into the Automatic Deed-Reader and have it drawn for you, automatically! More information
Flexible Data Entry
All of the methods above accept a variety of formats and abbreviations. So you could enter a bearing as "N 12.2030 E", or "12.2030NE". You can also enter bearings by quadrant code, azimuth, angles right and left, and deflection angles. Bearings are easily entered as one, single entry instead of having to tab through separate fields for quadrant, degrees, minutes and seconds.
When entering a rectangular deed, many variations and abreviations are recognized. For instance, "Northeast quarter, or N.E. qtr, or NE 1/4" are all recognized.
